Privacy Policy
Thank you for using F U Trials. This policy explains how we collect, use, and share information on our website at futrials.com and in the F U Trials Chrome extension. If you have questions, email privacy@futrials.com.
Who We Are
F U Trials provides a consumer tool that helps you track free trials and avoid surprise subscription charges. We operate the website at futrials.com and the F U Trials Chrome extension. We are based in the United Kingdom and we support users in the United States.
Scope
- The website at https://futrials.com
- The F U Trials Chrome extension available through the Chrome Web Store
This policy does not cover third party sites you visit or merchants you transact with. Those services have their own privacy policies.
Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Email address when you sign up in the side panel onboarding flow
- Six digit verification code you enter to activate your account
Information we collect automatically
- Internet Protocol address used once during verification to help prevent abuse
- Basic device or browser metadata that Chrome provides to extensions such as extension version and notification delivery status
Information the extension stores for you
This data is created on your device and saved using Chrome extension storage.
- Trials you add manually or that the extension detects automatically. This includes service name, domain, start date, length in days, scheduled reminder times, and the manage or cancel link
- Domain mappings downloaded to your device so the extension can append your affiliate parameters locally
- Reminder alarms and local flags that control banners and notifications
Information processed locally by the extension
The extension evaluates the active tab’s URL and page structure to decide whether to add a trial or to append an affiliate parameter. This logic runs on your device. We do not upload your browsing history or page contents to our servers as part of these checks.
Information we receive from others
- Our email provider processes your email address to send welcome and reminder messages
- Our affiliate partners and merchants may send us conversion reports that include pseudonymous IDs, dates, and commission amounts. These reports do not include your full payment information
How We Use Information
- Create and verify your account
- Detect and track free trials and schedule reminders before they expire
- Send reminder emails at seven days, three days, and one day before a trial ends
- Provide domain mapping so affiliate parameters can be appended to partner sites
- Prevent fraud, protect our services, and honor rate limits
- Comply with legal obligations
Legal bases
UK and EU Performance of a contract to provide the core service. Legitimate interests for abuse prevention and security. Consent where required by law for marketing emails. We do not send marketing by default.
United States Operational purposes that are reasonably necessary and proportionate to the service you request.
Affiliate Parameters and Cookies
The extension may append a partner specific parameter to the end of a URL when you visit a participating merchant’s domain. This happens at most once per six hours for each partner domain during normal browsing. It is always applied on checkout, sign up, or free trial pages to ensure your affiliate cookie is set.
Appending a parameter may cause the merchant or its affiliate network to set cookies on their domains. Those cookies are controlled by the merchant or network. We do not set third party cookies on their behalf and we do not receive your payment details from them.
You can prevent this behavior by turning off the extension, limiting its site access in Chrome, or uninstalling it.
What We Share and With Whom
We do not sell your personal information. We share information in these limited ways.
- Service providers that help us run the service such as hosting, email delivery, logging, and fraud prevention
- Merchants and affiliate networks that receive the appended parameter when you click through to their site. They are independent controllers of their own data
- Authorities when the law requires it or to enforce our terms and protect our users
We require our providers to use your data only to perform services for us and to safeguard it appropriately.
Data Retention
- Verification codes are stored for up to ten minutes
- Trial records and reminder schedules are stored until you delete them or uninstall the extension
- Account records are kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes
- Domain mappings are refreshed at least every twenty four hours and cached locally on your device. The cache is replaced when new data is retrieved
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and least privilege for systems and staff. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. We work to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.
Where We Process Data and International Transfers
We operate in the United Kingdom and may use providers located in the United Kingdom, the European Union, and the United States. When we transfer personal data internationally we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
